Isabelle Navizet received her Ph.D. in 2004 from the Univ. Paris VI, France, for her theoretical research on mechanical properties of proteins. She then joined the Univ. UPEM, where she was appointed assistant professor, and performed quantum mechanics (QM) on small systems. In 2007, she started working on bioluminescent systems using QM/MM techniques with 2 long aboard stays of 3 years each (BNU, China, until 2010, and Witwatersrand, South Africa). She returned to the laboratory MSME (UPEM) in 2013 and was appointed professor there in 2014.
